Raise Money for IBCRF by Selling on eBay

An Opportunity That You Can Do
Anytime of the Year

IBCRF is currently involved in an exciting new opportunity for people to contribute to our organization through eBay Giving Works, eBay's charity section. MissionFish is the nonprofit organization that manages the process, and with their help more than $81 million has been raised for charities on eBay Giving Works.

You now have the opportunity to sell on IBCRF's behalf, referred to as Community Selling. Choose one or several items and when you are creating your listing on eBay, designate the International Breast Cancer Research Foundation as the organization that you would like to donate a percentage of your winning bid. You can donate 10-100% of the final sale to IBCRF. There is a $5 minimum donation for each listing that sells. Your item will appear with the eBay Giving Works ribbon icon to verify that it is a charity auction. Buyers will be more likely to bid on your item knowing that it is for a good cause.

How Selling for IBCRF Works

IBCRF is already registered as a nonprofit with MissionFish. If you would like to sell an item and donate a percentage of the sale to IBCRF:

  • You must be registered as an eBay seller
  • When you are entering the information about the item you are selling under the "Sell Your Item" section, be sure to select the International Breast Cancer Research Foundation under the "Donate percentage of sale" on the Pictures and Details section. Note: If you cannot find the "Donate percentage of sale," go to the top of the page, click on Show/Hide Options, and make sure that you click on "Donate percentage of sale" so that it is not hidden.
  • You will be prompted to create a MissionFish account if you have not already done so. This process will ensure that you make your donation payment.
  • After the auction ends, the buyer will pay you, and you will ship the item as usual.
  • Go to MissionFish and pay your donation. IBCRF will then receive your donation, and MissionFish will send you a receipt.

Your $10 contribution pays for a biopsy to see if breast cancer is really present. In the U.S., the same procedure costs $300!

Your $50 contribution pays for a pathology hormone receptor test to determine if hormonal treatment will be beneficial to the patient. In the U.S., this test costs $500!

Your $100 contribution pays for Tamoxifen medicine for a patient for 2 years. In the U.S, this will buy only enough for 1 or 2 months!

Your $500 contribution covers all the costs of breast and ovarian surgery for one woman. In the U.S., this would cost $10,000!

Your $1,000 contribution covers all the costs for one patient’s care and participation in an IBCRF research study. In the U.S., it would take $15,000 to cover the entire cost of the same care!

Your $40,000 contribution would help to fund the ongoing
Rupantar Project, a theory-based pot ("folk") song specifically designed to encourage women who are experiencing breast problems to visit a local breast problem clinic (and also to encourage men to encourage their wives to visit a local clinic if they notice any problems).

IBCRF Research is making a difference for women everywhere!
